Myrtle S. Freese

BELGRADE -- Myrtle Sadie Freese, 92, of Belgrade died Friday at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Crow River Lutheran Church in rural Belgrade. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, with a prayer service at 6 p.m., and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born June 24, 1914, in rural Brooten to Ole and Inga (Peterson) Sorenson. She grew up in rural Brooten and attended district school.
She married John "Jack" Freese on Feb. 14, 1934, in Belgrade. They farmed in Norway Lake and Colfax townships. She helped on the farm and worked at Jennie-O Foods until 1977. They retired in 1978 and moved into Belgrade.
She was a member of Crow River Lutheran Church, and was active with the church women, circle and quilting.
She is survived by her children: Inez (and Virgil) Anderson of Belgrade, JoAnn (and Bill) Fignar of Otsego, Harlyn (and Bonnie) Freese of South Haven; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Evelyn (and Hanley) Reigstad of Sunburg and Irene (and Harlan) Jorgenson of New London.
She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers and three sisters.
