Name of Spicer man pronounced dead near Sunburg released

NORWAY LAKE TOWNSHIP — The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office on Friday released the name of Harlan Wayne Brogren, who was found deceased around 10:20 a.m. Thursday in Norway Lake Township.

According to a news release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, deputies originally responded to a report of an unresponsive male.

The 62-year-old Spicer man was located in a road ditch on 292nd Avenue Northwest near 133rd Street.

He was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Law enforcement officials believe Brogren was turkey hunting; a firearm was recovered at the scene, but was not involved in the incident.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the death appears to be of natural causes.

The case is still under investigation.

Assisting the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office were the Sunburg Ambulance, Willmar Ambulance and the Lake Area First Responders.
