BIRD ISLAND -- Nancy Jean Schneider, 60, of Bird Island died Monday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bird Island. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 6:15 p.m., at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Bird Island and from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born April 5, 1948, in Willmar to Louis and Phyllis (Johnson) Tusha. She attended school in Lake Lillian and Cosmos and graduated from Cosmos High School.
She married Richard Schneider on Dec. 30, 1967, in Bird Island. They lived in Bird Island. She worked for many years with Schneider Tiling and the Coast To Coast hardware store. She had also worked at BOLD schools as a custodian, at ALCO in Olivia, as well as cleaning homes for friends and neighbors.

She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she volunteered by making rosaries for people in the service. She also volunteered at Dandy-O Horse Ranch.
She is survived by her brother: Robert Tusha of Atwater. sister-in-law: Delores Underwood; and brothers-in-law: Marvin Schneider, Luvern Schneider, Edward Schneider and Jerome Schneider, all of Bird Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998.
