WILLMAR -- The Ridgewater women's basketball team couldn't solve the North Dakota State College of Science zone in the second half, leading to a 67-61 loss Tuesday.
The Lady Warriors took a 35-28 lead into halftime and held an advantage through the first 10 minutes of the second half, but the Wildcats slowly cut into the lead and flustered Ridgewater with a shifting zone.
"We stopped being aggressive. We quit attacking that zone," said Ridgewater coach Carrie Ogdahl. "The girls will learn what we can and can't do."
What the Lady Warriors couldn't do well Tuesday was shoot over the zone. They made half (13 of 26) of their shots in the first half, then slipped to 26.5 percent (9 of 34) in the second half.
Sasha Barnes spurred the NDSCS comeback, scoring all 14 of her points in the second half, including two 3-pointers.
