New London-Spicer graduation plans include parking lot ceremony, car parade June 6

New London-Spicer High School has announced its graduation plans. Graduates will have a chance to walk across a stage to pick up their diplomas and participate in a car parade.

NEW LONDON — New London-Spicer High School graduates will participate in a parking lot graduation June 6, followed by a vehicle parade through the two towns and around Green Lake.

Information about the commencement has been posted on the school district’s website.

The commencement is to begin at 2 p.m. June 6. Graduates are not required to participate and may ask for a private ceremony.

A traditional stage will be set up in front of the high school, and graduates will have the opportunity to walk across the stage to pick up their diplomas. One vehicle will be allowed per graduate, with a few exceptions for special circumstances.

Families will not be allowed to leave their cars. A professional photographer will provide photos free of charge of graduates crossing the stage. An NLS staff member will provide candid photos.

After the ceremony, police and fire vehicles will lead the cars from the parking lot through New London about 3 p.m., Spicer about 3:30 p.m. and around Green Lake about 3:45 p.m.
