APPLE VALLEY -- Willmar senior Andrew Nicklawsky finished second individually and the Willmar boys fourth overall at the 25-team Eagles Invitational on Saturday.
Willmar ran without Mahad Hassan, who was injured in an automobile accident on Thursday. Hassan was undefeated in three races and ranked No. 2 in the state in Class AA.
Nicklawsky, the sixth man on Willmar's state championship team in 2006, has not finished lower than fourth in four meets this season.
Danny Dochery, a Cretin-Derham Hall senior, took first 16:18 with Nicklawsky at 16:27.
Mohamed Hussein, a sophomore coming off an injury, took 10th for Willmar, Abshir Ahmet was 24th, David Anderson was 47th and Ryan Larsen 87th. Willmar was also missing No. 4 runner Zach Coquyt.

Hassan sustained leg injuries in the wreck, according to Cardinal coach Jerry Popp.
Sophomores occupied the top five spots on the Willmar girls, which placed 10th of 23 teams. Jackie Johnson (43rd) finished in 16:38 with Jayne Cole (45th) two seconds behind. Emily Ellingson (46th), Danielle Erickson (62nd) and Erin Sheehan (104th) followed.
