NLS girls thrash Alexandria
NEW LONDON _ Led by senior center Renae Henjum's 22 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks the undefeated New London-Spicer girls basketball team ended Alexandria's four-game winning streak on Saturday evening 67-33. The Wildcats (6-0) jumped out 21-4 and led 35-13 at intermission. Junior forward Trista Norris had her best game striking for 14 points and collecting 6 rebounds. Alex sophomore Angela Christianson was the only Cardinal able to break through the NLS zone. She finished with 15 points.
Rocori hands NLS boys first lost
COLD SPRING _ Sam Feldhage struck for 23 points the second straight game to spearhead Rocori's 77-59 win over New London-Spicer (3-1). Adam Meyer and Brian Hanson combined for 28 points for the Spartans (3-0),who led 30-20 by halftime.
Jackson Wright pitched in 19 points for NLS. Chris Tengwall added 12. Rocori made 25 of 36 free throw chances.
