As the only team with a winning record entering today's West Central Tribune WildCard girls basketball tournament, New London-Spicer (7-0) is the favorite to repeat its 2006 title.
NLS beat Willmar 43-33 in last year's final in New London.
The two-day tourney starts with NLS playing Watertown-Mayer (2-3) at 6 p.m., followed by the Cardinals (3-5) and Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (3-3) at 7:45 p.m.
NLS is rated No. 9, regardless of class, in the MaxPrep rankings used by the StarTribune.
