NLS loses bid for state

LITCHFIELD -- New London-Spicer's bid for its first state tournament appearance was denied by Foley Friday night.

Foley topped the Wildcats 31-16 in the Section 6AA championship.

New London-Spicer was clinging to a 7-6 lead after four matches before Foley won three straight and never trailed again.

Shawn Hatlestad's major decision at 125 pounds was the only one of the six NLS wins that was an extra counter.
