NLS nipped in 12 innings by Cold Spring

CHASKA -- Despite being outhit 12-4, Cold Spring outlasted New London-Spicer 2-1 in 12 innings in the Class C State Amateur Baseball Tournament on Saturday.

CHASKA -- Despite being outhit 12-4, Cold Spring outlasted New London-Spicer 2-1 in 12 innings in the Class C State Amateur Baseball Tournament on Saturday.

The loss eliminated the Twins, who finished the season 18-17.

Mike Hei-nen worked all 11 inn-ings for the win for Cold Spring. He had no walks and struck out five.

The Rockies scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th innings. Tyler Schmitz drew a walk off Darrin Ogdahl, who pitched the entire way for the Twins. Schmitz moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and to third on a wild pitch before scoring thewwinning run on a sacrifice fly by Mike Flicker.

Ogdahl walked two and struck out four.
