MORA -- Shawn Halliday rushed for 154 yards and scored two touchdowns to help New London-Spicer amass 338 rushing yards and give the Wildcats a 35-20 West Central North Conference win over Mora Friday.
It was the conference opener for both teams. New London-Spicer improved to 2-0, while Mora fell to 1-1 overall.
Jared Williamson threw scoring strikes to Jay Moten for 30 yards and Halliday for 10 yards in the first half while Derek Henle had a 20-yard touchdowns run sandwiched in between to give New London-Spicer a quick 21-0 lead.
Taylor Dammermann scored on a run from six yards out in the third quarter for New London-Spicer before Halliday capped the scoring for the Wildcats with a five-yard run in the fourth quarter that put the Wildcats ahead 35-6.
Mora scored twice in the final quarter.
