GREEN LAKE TOWNSHIP - A man was left unscathed Monday after his vehicle submerged in Bass Lake, 20 feet from shore, while he was still in the driver’s seat.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 11:30 a.m near the public access off of 82nd Avenue Northeast.
The driver had reportedly lost control of his vehicle on the boat access and went into the lake, submerging the Chevy Trailblazer up to its windows.
According to a news release, the first arriving deputy took a boat to the vehicle, which the man was unable to exit. The deputy assisted the driver and his two dogs and brought them to shore.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Kandiyohi County Rescue, Atwater Ambulance, the Spicer Fire Department and First Responders, Willmar Ambulance and the New London Fire Department.
