Nobles County Sheriff continues to investigate shooting death

BREWSTER -- Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening reported Thursday that there have been no arrests in the shooting of a Brewster woman in her home early Wednesday morning while she was sleeping.

BREWSTER - Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening reported Thursday that there have been no arrests in the shooting of a Brewster woman in her home early Wednesday morning while she was sleeping.
Her husband said in a 911 call to the sheriff that he awoke to a shot and found his wife in her bed shot in the chest. He also said he found a shotgun shell on the floor and the back door open.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner has officially identified the woman who died as Janette Krista Pigman-Kruse, 40, of Brewster.
Pigman-Kruse died as a result of homicide due to a gunshot wound, the sheriff said.
The sheriff’s office and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continue to investigate.
