ST. CLOUD -- David McKee ran for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Northland routed Ridgewater 32-6 in junior college football Saturday at St. Cloud State.

The loss spoiled the coaching debut of Rob Baumgarn.

"It was disappointing because we were missing assignments and not playing like we should have been," said Baumgarn. "We didn't tackle well at all. We watched film and saw that we should have had six sacks that we missed."

Ridgewater trailed 12-0 at halftime and didn't get on the board until the third quarter when Jason Pawelk, a sophomore wide receiver from Watertown-Mayer, hauled in a three-yard touchdown pass from Desmon Moody, a freshman from Minneapolis. That capped a 75-yard drive that was highlighted by a 14-yard run by Eric Jackson and a 32-yard reception by Josh Goebel from Moody.

Moody finished 7-of-14 for 106 yards and no interceptions. He also led the Warriors with 32 yards rushing in four carries.

Pawelk had two receptions for 17 yards and Zak Kjolsing had two catches for 19 yards.

Defensively, Ryan Ronan had 11 tackles.

"We're looking for a new team to show up next week," said Baumgarn, referring to the Warriors game next Saturday at Hibbing. "Our offensive line played well in pass protection and our special teams was solid. But we've got to go back now and work on a lot of things."
