MORRIS -- Nota Gay Emmert, 94, of Morris died Wednesday at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Evangelical Free Church in Morris. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

She was born on July 30, 1913, in Stuart, Iowa, to O. A. and Nellie (Whittaker) Shanholtzer. They moved to Palisade where she grew up and received her schooling.

She married Clifford Emmert on Dec. 14, 1929, in Aitkin. They moved to Grant County, S.D. They lived there until 1936, when they moved back to Palisade. In 1948, they moved to Hancock, where they continued to farm. Clifford died in 1993. She moved to Grandview Apartments in Morris in 1999.

She is survived by four sons: Clifford (and Alice) Emmert of Alexandria, Larry (and Shirley) Emmert of Blaine, Jerry (and Donna) Emmert of Hoffman, and Ivan (and Teresa) Emmert of Hancock; one daughter: Nell Anderson of Alberta; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Dewey (and Faye) Shanholtzer of Bakersfield, Calif.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dale, three sisters and three brothers.
