DAWSON -- Olive Isabelle Larson, 96, of Dawson died Monday at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Burial will be at the Grace Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

She was born Aug. 11, 1911, in Garfield Township, Lac Qui Parle County, to Carl and Inga (Sjolie) Thompson. She attended country school in Maxwell Township. She worked as a housekeeper and then as a waitress.

She married Melvin Larson on Dec. 14, 1937, in Milbank, S.D. They lived at various farms in Lac Qui Parle County. For many years, they lived at the Larson family farm in Baxter Township where she was a homemaker. She also helped with the farms. Mel died in 1984. She was a waitress for many years at the Coop Cafe in Dawson. She moved to an apartment in Dawson in 1989. In March, she moved to the Prairie Meadows Assisted Living in Dawson.

She is survived by her children: Maynard (and Lois) Larson of Dawson, DeLaine (and Dick) Clausen of Marcell, Diane Larson of Burnsville and Michael Larson of Deephaven; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Rose Lindblad and Fern Nelson of Madison, Clarence "Kelly" Thompson of Madison and Mel (and Grace) Thompson of El Paso, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, eight siblings, including a brother in infancy, and a granddaughter.
