WILLMAR -- Idulfo Zavala, 30, of Olivia, was sentenced Monday to 67 months in prison for selling prescription narcotics to a CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant in October and November.

As part of his sentence handed down in Kandiyohi County District Court by District Judge Donald M. Spilseth, Zavala was also ordered to pay $2,000 in fines and court fees with his prison earnings. He was given credit for 150 days already served in jail.

As part of a plea agreement in both Kandiyohi County and Renville County district courts, Zavala pleaded guilty two second-degree drug sale counts in Kandiyohi County and to a third-degree drug sale count and a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm in Renville County.

Zavala and Karyl Jean Mooney, 45, of Bird Island, were charged in connection to the drug sales. Mooney was sentenced March 16 to 90 days in jail, $1,500 in fines and 15 years of probation on three felony charges of fourth-degree drug sale and possession.

The Kandiyohi County charges were filed after Zavala sold 65 Adderall pills, which contain amphetamine and are a Schedule II narcotic, to the informant on Oct. 20 and sold 217 hydrocodone pills, which are a Schedule III narcotic, to the same informant on seven occasions between Oct. 27 and Nov. 10.
