OLIVIA -- The Olivia Police Department has received more information from citizens about the man suspected of attempting to abduct a young woman Monday afternoon.
According to Police Chief Nyla Negen, the department is still looking for the man and any information about the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 320-523-2700.
The department did receive a report involving a similar vehicle parking near a residence and the driver, an older man, watching children playing in a yard. The children were taken into the home by an older child. The incident happened several weeks ago.
On Monday afternoon, a young adult female reported that, around 1:30 p.m. near 10th Street and Elm Avenue, she was walking on the street and was followed by a man in his 50's with a full head of short gray hair, wire-rimmed glasses, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was driving an older, four-door white Chevrolet Malibu that was very dirty. The interior of the car was light gray in color with a green pine tree air freshener hanging from the rearview mirror. The man had a lit cigarette in his hand.
The young woman reported that the man had rolled his window down and demanded that the woman get inside of his vehicle. The woman immediately ran away from the unknown suspect. She reported she'd seen the same vehicle and man pass by her residence earlier, around noon Monday.
