Olivia woman airlifted after crash

OLIVIA -- An Olivia woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday south of Olivia, according to a report from the Renville County Sheriff's Office.

OLIVIA - An Olivia woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday south of Olivia, according to a report from the Renville County Sheriff's Office.

Misty Brooks, 26, of Olivia was driving north on 350th Street when her 2006 Jeep Liberty collided with a sugar beet lifter towed by a tractor headed south on 350th Street. The driver of the John Deere tractor was Marlo Macik, 46, of Hector.

Brooks was injured and trapped in the vehicle. Her 2-year-old daughter Patricia was not injured. Macik was also uninjured.

Members of the Olivia Fire Department and Olivia Ambulance Service were able to extricate Brooks from the vehicle. She was transported to RC Hospital in Olivia and later flown to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

The Minnesota State Patrol also assisted at the scene.
