One injured in Stearns County crash near Spring Hill

SPRING HILL — A Melrose teen was injured and a Paynesville man escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on snow- and ice-covered roads at an intersection east of Spring Hill in Stearns County.

According to the State Patrol, a 2013 Kia Sorento driven by Dennis Edgar Zimmerman, 67, was heading south on Highway 4 near Stearns County Road 14. A Chevy Impala driven by Brooke Ann Wuertz, 16, was eastbound on County Road 14, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Wuertz suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the Paynesville hospital.

Lake Henry firefighters and Belgrade-Brooten police also responded to the crash reported at 4:48 p.m. Monday in Spring Hill Township.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor, the report said.
