One killed in farm accident near Maynard

MAYNARD -- A man was killed Monday afternoon after he was run over by a combine near Maynard in Wang Township.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the preliminary investigation shows that the man was approaching the rear of the combine unbeknownst to the driver and was run over by the rear wheels. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing names pending the notification of family members.
The farm accident occurred on 120th Street, about a half-mile south of the Chippewa/Renville Line and one mile southeast of Maynard.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Assisting at the scene were the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Maynard First Responders and Clara City Ambulance.
