HECTOR -- Orin "Bud" Schiro, 85, of Hector died Sunday at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector. Burial will be in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Hector to Fred and Minnie (Berg) Schiro. He grew up in Hector and graduated from the Hector High School.

He married Gladys Phillips on Sept. 1, 1942, in Bird Island. They lived in Hector. He worked at the Hector Creamery for 54 years, first at various jobs then as manager.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hector and of the Hector Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his son: James (and Carolyn) Schiro of Glencoe; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996 and three sisters.
