WILLMAR -- Orlander Bernard "Lonnie" Stovern, 100, of Willmar died Monday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tripolis Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Kandiyohi. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

He was born Aug. 14, 1905, in Crawford, S.D., to Nels and Anna (Dravland) Stovern. The family lived in Rosholt, S.D.; Ratcliff, Saskatchewan, and Duluth. He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1926.

He married Grace Fuller on Oct. 12, 1929. They lived in New Effington, S.D., and he worked as a meat cutter and had a hatchery. They lived in St. Paul for a short time and then moved to Willmar in 1946. Grace died in 1963.

He married Hildur Hydeen on Sept. 26, 1964. They lived in Willmar. He worked as a postal railroad clerk for over 30 years and retired in 1970. He drove bus for 13 years and umpired home baseball games. Hildur died in 1997.

He was a member of Tripolis Evangelical Lutheran Church where he had served as the church secretary-treasurer. He was a Mason for over 70 years and a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. He received the All American Trapshooting Award in 1972. He was inducted into the Minnesota Hall of Fame in 1990.

He is survived by his daughter: Lonetta Schroeder of Willmar; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Harold (and Lorraine) Hydeen of Kandiyohi, Violet Bricher of Coral Springs, Fla., Kelly (and Irene) Lindblad of Benson; five stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and special friend: Mae Grieve of Willmar.

He was preceded in death by his wives; infant daughter: Kathrine; and one brother.
