CLARA CITY -- Orville Dale Koenen, 75, of Clara City died Thursday at his home.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service today at the church. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Clara City.
He was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Benson to Aeise and Marie (Groothuis) Koenen. He received his education in District 88 Country School and Benson Public School. He actively served in the U.S. Army from 1953 through 1956 and was discharged in 1961.

He married Irene Folkerts in September 1959 in Clara City. He worked for Cenex in Clara City for a few years and served for 25 years as a Clara City police officer from 1971 until his retirement in 1996.
He is survived by his wife; children: Clark (and Mary) of Eagan, Lynn Koenen of Clara City, and Julie (and Darrell) Schoep of Clara City; six grandchildren; brothers: Kenneth (and Francis) Koenen of Clara City, Gerald (and Patti) Koenen of Sumner, Wash., and Vernon (and Ruth) Koenen of Watson.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers and by two infant brothers.
