Overturned semi blocks Highway 212 Friday evening near Hector, now open

HECTOR -- U.S. Highway 212, west of Hector, is currently blocked by an overturned semi-truck, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).

HECTOR -- U.S. Highway 212, west of Hector, is currently blocked by an overturned semi-truck, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).

The highway, which cuts across the middle of Renville County, is expected to be blocked until at least 6:15 p.m.

MnDOT says drivers should use a different route. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at least 340 crashes and 559 off-road spinouts have been reported statewide amid deteriorating road conditions due to Friday's snowstorm.
