LITCHFIELD -- Patrick Francis McCormick, 80, of Litchfield died Sunday at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
The service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Litchfield. Military honors will be provided by Admiral Benson VFW Post 2818 of Litchfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home with parish prayers at 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
He was born Nov. 15, 1926, in St. Paul to Patrick and Bernadine (O'Fallon) McCormick. He grew up in the Litchfield area and attended District 32 Country School and Litchfield Public School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 until 1946 in Japan.

He married Phyllis Anderson on Oct. 1, 1949, in Litchfield. He worked for 3M for 25 years. He also drove truck for First District and owned his own construction business, fire extinguisher business and lawn service. He retired at the age of 65.
He was a member of the Litchfield Fire Department for 24 years, where he served as chief for 12 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife; children: Anita (and Gary) Beckstrand of St. Francis, Charlene (and Gil) Gilchrist of Waconia and Gretchen (and Steve) Sperry of Litchfield; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother: Phil (and Lottie) McCormick of Litchfield; and a sister: Mary McRaith of Jaynesville.
