SPICER -- Paul Edwin Adams, 85, of Spicer died Saturday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harrison Community Presbyterian Church in rural Spicer. Burial will be at the Spicer City Cemetery in Spicer. Military honors will be provided by the Spicer American Legion Henderson Lewis Post 545.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church and one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home of New London.

He was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Colfax Township to Gustav and Emma (Widmark) Adams. He attended District 92 country school in Irving Township. He farmed until he served his country in World War II.

He married Mavis Paetznick on Feb. 24, 1950, in Paynesville. They moved to the family farm in Harrison Township, where he farmed until he retired in 1989.

He was a member of the Harrison Community Presbyterian Church. He served on the church board for a number of years and was a church elder. He also served on the Harrison Township Board and was a member of the Spicer American Legion Henderson Lewis Post 545.

He is survived by his children: Larry Adams of Grove City, Judy (and Jim) Nelson of Kandiyohi; four grandchildren; siblings: Kenneth Adams of Grove City, Mae Amundson of Cokato; and special friend: Alice Kesselring of Spicer.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1990 and by six siblings.
