ST. PAUL -- Gov. Tim Pawlenty has appointed Scott Van Binsbergen of Montevideo to the Board of Accountancy. The board examines, licenses, and regulates certified public accountants. The board consists of nine members appointed by the governor.
Van Binsbergen owns Van Binsbergen and Associates, a real estate and property management firm in Montevideo; Madsen Properties Inc., a property management company in Battle Lake; Health Providers Inc., a provider of assisted living facilities and services for seniors and developmentally disabled adults; and Burnsdale Apartment Complex for elderly and disabled individuals.
Van Binsbergen earned his bachelor of arts degree from Moorhead State University. He is a member and past president of the Montevideo Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Realtors Association, and Hope Reformed Church Board, and has been active in community and civic organizations. He received the 2004 Southwest Minnesota "Entrepreneur of the Year" award.
