CLARA CITY -- Peter Freiborg, 81, of Clara City, died Friday at Renville Care Center.
The service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Clara City and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
He was born Aug. 26, 1926, in rural Renville to Herman and Grace (Brummer) Freiborg. He attended country schools near Renville and Sacred Heart. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1946 to 1947, when he returned to the family farm.
He married Pauline Grussing on Sept. 22, 1950. They farmed near Sacred Heart.

In 1988, they moved to Clara City. He continued to help his sons on the farm for many years. He served on the Sacred Heart School Board for 15 years and was a member of the Bethany Reformed Church, where he served on various committees, and was a deacon and an elder.
He is survived by his wife; children: Marvin (and Deb) Freiborg of Sauk Centre, Randy (and Stephanie) of Sacred Heart, Mary (and David) Honken of Blomkest, Dan (and Rhonda) Freiborg of Sacred Heart, Julie (and Scott) Abbas of Renville; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters: Annie Grussing, Grace Carlson and Edith Gerdes, all of Willmar; and a brother: Ben (and Dorothy) Freiborg of California.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two grandchildren.
