LITCHFIELD -- Phyllis Marjorie Engelson, 84, of Litchfield, formerly of Grove City, died Sunday at Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Burial will be at First Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and for one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday.

She was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Grove City to Harry and Selma (Onsdorf) Nelson. She grew up in Grove City and graduated from Grove City High School in 1939.

She married Kenneth Engelson on Dec. 18, 1943, in Grove City. She worked at the Nelson Brothers Fairway Store in Grove City and at the Meeker County Extension Office. She also worked for REA for 18 years and retired in 1986. She also worked at her P&K Ceramics business.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Grove City, was involved in the women's club and sang in the women's trio. She was also a member of the Sons of Norway and the Sweet Adelines. She served on the Bring Back the Windmill committee and was active in the Home Extension Club.

She is survived by her children: Karen (and John) VanderVen of Kent, Wash., Robert (and Thea) Engelson of Clinton, Iowa; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister and one brother.
