MARSHALL -- Shawn Plumley, a two-time state wrestling champion for BOLD who suffered a serious head injury in a motorcycle accident six months ago, will return to Southwest Minnesota State University as honorary captain for the Mustang's final home match against MSU-Moorhead tonight.
Plumley would have been a junior on the wrestling team this winter. He qualified for the NCAA Division II National Tournament as a sophomore at 157 pounds. He finished that season with a 20-14 record.
He will sit with his teammates during the match, The SMSU wrestling team plans on honoring him along with this season's seniors before the match.
Plumley has been rehabilitating at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul.
