WILLMAR -- Willmar police have arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery Thursday night at Sunray Express, 3001 First Ave. N.W. Arrested were Dustin Streich, 20, and Brian Dewane, 25, both of the Willmar area.
Police were called to Sunray Express at approximately 10:08 p.m. about an armed robbery in progress. Two Sunray employees told officers that a white male, wearing dark clothing and a ski mask, pointed a gun at them. The suspect demanded money from the cash register and several cartons of cigarettes. The suspect left with the cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash.
A short time later, police arrested Streich and Dewane for the Sunray robbery. The two men are also suspects in the June 26 armed robbery of the Holiday Station Store in Willmar, according to a news release from Police Chief Jim Kulset.
During a search by police of the vehicle believed to have been used during the Sunray robbery, officers recovered numerous items believed to have been used in the robberies.
Kulset said the investigation continues.
