WILLMAR -- The failure of an electrical component connecting overhead power lines to underground power lines at the intersection of Willmar Avenue and First Street caused an early morning power outage in parts of south Willmar Wednesday.
The failure of the component, called a termination, at about 5:40 a.m. caused an outage in an area along 19th Avenue Southwest between Ninth Street Southwest and First Street and then north along First Street from 19th Avenue to the Burger King area, said Mike Nitchals, Willmar Municipal Utilities general manager.
