GLENWOOD -- Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa managed only one hit off Minnewaska pitcher Mike Whittemore, but the Jaguars made it count.
Kevin Keufler, the No. 9 hitter in the Jaguars' line-up, singled home Josh Beier with two outs in the top of the fifth for the game's only run as BBE tipped the Lakers 1-0 in a non-conference baseball game Monday.
In the one-hour, 14-minute pitchers' duel, Josh Roelike and Jordan Beier combined on a four-hit shutout for BBE (13-4). Roelike went the first five innings, giving up the four hits before Beier held the Lakers hitless the last two innings.
Whittemore was needle sharp, except in the fifth, when he yielded his only walk and the single hit.
Both teams played excellent defense. Roelike threw out Brad Dunn at the plate in the third, trying to score on a double steal. Ira Ammend singled twice for Minnewaska (10-7).
