GLENWOOD -- Jeremy Walker drove in three runs and Ira Ammend and Trevor Berg both scored three times as Minnewaska stayed on top of the West Central South Conference by upending Benson 11-1 in five innings Tuesday.
The Lakers (6-2, 6-3) produced five runs behind five hits in the first inning after sending 10 batters to the plate. The first seven batters in the order reached base before Benson recorded an out.
Nick Sutton worked all five innings, scattering five hits, one walk and three strikeouts, to pick up the win. Ammend, Walker, Alex Henricks and Brad Dunn had two hits apiece to help support Sutton.
Luke Staton drove in Andrew Ebert with a single in the third for Benson's lone run.
