PAYNESVILLE -- Paynesville collected 11 hits to beat New London-Spicer 8-1 in West Central North Conference softball Monday.
The Bulldogs (10-3, 11-3) scored six runs in the first two innings, including four in the second. Laura Schaefer highlighted the frame with a two-run double.
Paynesville had 11 hits off two NLS pitchers.
Whitney Woehler pitched six shutout innings for the win. She allowed two hits, struck out four and didn't issue a walk. Cassie Goltz pitched the seventh inning and was touched for one hits and one run.
Taylor Thompsen had all three of the hits for the Wildcats (3-7, 3-8). She doubled twice and drove in the team's only run in the seventh.

Jennifer Paul, Kaci Lund and Jasmine Kalkbrenner had two hits each for Paynesville.
