MONTEVIDEO -- Cameron Vien's two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth gave Montevideo a four-run lead and the Thunder Hawks were able to hold off Minneswaska 10-8 on Thursday in West Central South baseball.
Tyler Grey went the distance for Montevideo (8-5, 8-6) on an 11-hitter, also surviving six errors. Waska also was mistake prone, committing five behind its starter Nick Sutton.
Vien's three hits was supplemented by Eldon Evans, Todd Bergeson and Ryan Tostenson with two hits apiece in a 12-hit offense.
Michael Whittemore, Danny Braaten, Jeremy Walker and Brad Dunn got two hits each for the Lakers, who finish the league campaign 9-5.
