MARSHALL -- After losing to Benson/Hancock twice during the regular season, BOLD turned the tables and eliminated the Brave/Owls 7-5 in Section 3AA softball action Tuersfay.
But BOLD was then eliminated in its next game, falling to Jackson County Central, 11-0.

The Warriors scored five times in the first inning and never trailed after that.
Christy Gass and Alli Marcus each tripled while Hillary Mages and Ashley Zuehl doubled to go with an RBI single by Sam Donner.

Mages and Marcus -- both 3-for-3 -- had extra base hits in the fifth as the BOLD lead increased to 7-2.
BOLD pitcher Christy Gass scattered 10 hits for the win. She gave up three runs in the top of the seventh, but got out of trouble on a double-play and a the final out came on a runner's interference call.
Megan Jepma and Bree Holleman had two hits each.

The Sting (12-9) couldn't overcome a six-run sixth inning from Jackson County Central.
Kate Rentschler highlighted the Huskies' rally with a two-run home run. She was also the winning pitcher, striking out eight and walking three.

Livi Jeseritz hit an RBI single in the first inning and YME tied the game at 3-3, then Aimee Johnson smacked a two-run single in the second inning, giving the Sting a 5-3 advantage.
