GLENWOOD -- Red-hot Morris handed Minnewaska its first loss in West Central South Conference play on Tuesday, topping the Lakers 5-2.
The Tigers' seventh-straight win was triggered by a bases-loaded triple in the first inning by Adrienne Gahm, who then scored the fourth run of the frame on a fielder's choice.
Winning pitcher Sara Beyer gave up five hits and walked four before leaving after five innings with a 5-2 lead. Kelsey Amundson pitched two innings of one-hit relief for the save.
Minnewaska, which started 8-0 in the WCS, fell to 12-2 overall. The Lakers had won seven straight games. None of the runs off starter Kali Cordes were earned as the Lakers had five errors, including two in the decisive first inning.
Jacque Danielson went 3-for-3 for the Lakers.

Jordan Kline capped a two-run rally in the seventh inning with a single to right to lift Montevideo to the victory.

The Thunder Hawks (5-5, 6-6) scored the first run of the inning on a ground out to second base.
Ashley Roder led the team with three RBI and Emily Blauert doubled.
Mallory Jensen had two hits to pace Benson/Hancock (5-2, 7-3).
