NEW LONDON -- Paynesville pounded out 17 hits and scored five runs in the seventh to put away New London-Spicer 10-4 in West Central North Conference softball Friday.
The Bulldogs (9-3, 10-3) had five straight hits in the seventh, including triples from Laura Schaefer and Jessica Klein. Schaefer, who finished with three hits -- two triples -- drove in the first run and Klein -- who had a total of three RBI -- two more.
Brianna Jacobson, Lauren Rustad and Hannah Setterberg had two hits apiece to lead the Wildcats (3-6, 3-7).
