LAKEVILLE -- Marco Vazquez and Matt Hallstrom medaled for the second straight year as the Willmar duo placed fourth Tuesday at the Section 2AA individual tournament.
The seniors upended Patrick Lew-Michael Tebon of Minnetonka 0-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 to reach the semifinals. Eventual champions Adam Elkin-Ty Simcoe of Wayzata then bounced Vazquez-Hallstrom 7-5, 6-3 to send them to the third-place match where they lost 2-6, 2-6 to Luke Bastiansen-Charlie Ellson of Minnetonka.
Jordan Baker and Trent Fader lost 1-6, 1-6 in their quarterfinal match and Jim Neis fell to eventual champion Dennis Martin of Orono 0-6, 1-6 in his quarterfinal match for Willmar.
