WILLMAR -- Willmar earned its first victory of the season, topping Sartell 5-2 in a Central Lakes Conference match.
The Cardinals were coming off an 0-3 finish in the Litchfield tournament this past weekend against three strong oponents.
"We learned a lot on Saturday," said Willmar coach Erika Kath." We found out some of the things we needed to work on."
Andrea Brown at 1-singles and Amanda Bredeson at 2-singles both won in straight sets for the Cardinals.
Willmar swept the doubles matches. Leslie Marcus and Allie Ellingson at 1-doubles, Brittin Dahle and Eva Rodelius at 2-doubles and Jenny Peterson and Haylee Thompson at 3-doubles all won convincingly in straight sets.
