WILLMAR -- Jose Quetzecua Pasqual, 30, of St. Cloud, was sentenced Friday to a 24-month stayed sentence and 10 years of probation on a criminal sexual conduct felony.
Pasqual was ordered to serve 180 days in jail as a condition of his stayed sentence. Judge Kathryn N. Smith gave him credit for 102 days already served in jail. In addition, he must use no alcohol or drugs, submit to random drug testing, complete a psychosexual evaluation and register as a predatory offender.
Pasqual pleaded guilty July 25 to an amended charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in an agreement that dismissed another fourth-degree criminal sex charge against him and sought a stay of execution on a 24-month prison sentence.
The charges stem from a May 22 incident in which a 32-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by Pasqual as the two worked alone at a warehouse business along the Kandiyohi-Stearns county line near Paynesville. The woman told the owners of the business that Pasqual took down her pants while she was bending over to put something on a pallet, and then sexually assaulted her for 10 minutes while she was unable to defend herself due to a bad back. The owners then called the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
The woman also told officers that Pasqual had said "guapo" to her two dozen times that day. She didn't understand what he meant, but later learned that the word translates to English as "you're hot."
