Victimized by dog, court system
How ironic that there was a recent letter to the editor about keeping your dogs at home. On Jan. 31, I received my judgment on my court hearing about the neighbor's dog killing eight of my chickens and ducks. One chicken had to be nesting so I have one left. My neighbor told the judge that the coyotes came from the woods, a half-mile away and at 2 p.m. killed my birds and dropped off two chickens in his yard, then went back in the woods.
Judge Michael Thompson acknowledged that the dog killed my birds, but it is OK to keep a killer dog. Charlotte, you get $70 for eight birds. In other words, "Screw you" if you want a pet. Want a pet? Get a rhino or an elephant so the killer dog can't kill them. Evelyn, you are only missing cat food. At least you didn't have to chop the head off the duck the neighbor's dog was eating alive.
