WILLMAR -- The National Weather Service in Chanhassen said today a low pressure system will bring a period of late season snow to parts of the region this afternoon and tonight. The hazardous weather outlook includes the counties of Pope, Stearns, Lac qui Parle, Swift, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Yellow Medicine and Renville.

The weather service said rain is expected to change to snow across the region during the late afternoon hours. The weather service expects snow accumulation from 1 to 3 inches tonight along and north of Interstate 94. The snow will end before daybreak Saturday.
