WILLMAR -- Ralph Edward Nemec, 86, of Waconia, formerly of Willmar, died Tuesday at Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Willmar. Burial will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery.
Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

He was born Oct. 5, 1920, in Omaha, Neb., to Edward J. and Oliva J. (Rogers) Nemec. He grew up and attended school in the Omaha area. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945.
He married Maxine McGrann on March 18, 1940, in Omaha. They lived in the Omaha area and then moved to the Willmar area in 1945. He worked with Nelson Construction and also owned and operated Nemec Construction. Maxine died in 1976. He moved to Minneapolis and worked for Adolphs and Peterson Construction. He retired in 1992. He wintered for a number of years in Arizona.
He was a member of American Legion Post 167 and VFW Post 1639 in Willmar. He also served with the Willmar Fire Department for a number of years. He was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar.
He is survived by his daughters: Pamela Roth of Elmwood, Wis., Kristine Knuteson of Willmar, Patricia Schrade of Glencoe; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister.
