DAWSON -- Ralph Soblom, 80, of Dawson died Friday at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Providence Valley Lutheran Church in rural Dawson. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

He was born on Feb. 10, 1924, in Providence Township, rural Dawson , to Frank and Laura (Carlson) Soblom. He attended country school at District 38 through the eighth grade.

He lived on the family farm where he farmed his entire life. He was also employed at the Canby Sales Barn for 30 years.

He was a member of the Providence Valley Lutheran Church, where he served on the church board and various committees, and sang in the choir for 60 years.

He is survived by his brother-in-law: Donald Anderson of rural Dawson; one niece: Kathie (and Kirby) Sundt, and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
