Authorities recently recovered the remains of a Superior man missing since Nov. 11, 1985, according to the Michigan State Police.
Some area youths found the remains of William McKinnon, then 75, in the woods near Ramsay, Mich. The site is about 2.5 miles from where McKinnon's car was found abandoned in a ditch with its driving lights on. Authorities believe that McKinnon walked the distance to where he was found, as he frequently walked for miles.
According to the Michigan State Patrol, McKinnon suffered from Alzheimer's type symptoms when he disappeared. A search of McKinnon's Superior apartment found no signs that he had packed for a trip.
Foul play is not suspected in McKinnon's death.
