WILLMAR -- A 50-year-old Raymond man made his first appearance Thursday in Kandiyohi County Court on a felony harassment charge for allegedly leaving sexually explicit phone messages on a neighbor's answering machine.
Craig David Waterman also faces a misdemeanor charge of making obscene or harassing phone calls. Unconditional bail was set at $20,000 with conditional release allowed on his personal recognizance. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim. Wate-rman's next court ap-pearance is Monday.
According to the complaint, a Raymond couple contacted the sheriff's office on Oct. 29 regarding obscene phone messages left on their machine over several months.
They had also received calls where the person hung up as soon as they answered. A message left that day referred to sex acts the caller wanted to do to the woman, whom he referred to by name. The deputy recorded the message, and the cell phone number left on the message. Phone records were subpoenaed and Waterman was identified as the owner of the cell number.
Phone records showed 17 calls, between May and October, to the number with the last call coinciding with the report made to the deputy.

Waterman was interviewed and allegedly admitted to making the calls because he had sexual fantasies about the woman.
