WILLMAR -- Raymond Peder Stien, 74, of Willmar died Wednesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post 167.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
He was born July 2, 1931, in Montevideo to Ole and Dagmar (Pederson) Stien. The family moved to Bird Island when he was a freshman, and he graduated from high school in 1949. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Airborne.

He married Donna Baker on Aug. 5, 1951, in Casita, Ga. He was discharged in 1953 and they moved to Minneapolis. He worked as a florist for Connolly Greenhouse. They moved to rural Willmar, and later into Willmar. He worked for the City of Willmar at the wastewater treatment plant from 1962 to 1993, when he retired.
He was a member of American Legion Post 167 and Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar.
He is survived by his wife; children: Michael Stien of Topanga, Calif., Daniel (and Mary) Stien of Lake Lillian, Kathleen (and Jerry) Goosmann of Spicer, Leanne (and Mark) Nelson of Willmar, Dawn (and Craig) Marks of Wells, Linda (and Gary) Phillips of West Salem, Wis., Stacy Stien (and Dan Schafer) of Lake Lillian; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Howard (and Pat) Stien of Spokane, Wash., and Cecelia Seehusen of Bird Island.
He was preceded in death by an infant son: Patrick; son-in-law: Jerry Krueger; three brothers and one sister.
